Fractional Integrator (Fractional COO)

JOB SUMMARY

Partner with our clients (business owners and their leadership teams) through leadership, project management, values alignment, direction, and accountability, in the role as a Fractional Integrator.

LANGUAGES

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the owner (The Visionary) on short and long-term planning.
  • Executes the business plan, achieving or exceeding planned P&L objectives.
  • Owns the metric tools and leverages it to proactively identify issues.
  • Leads, manages, and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments.
  • Integrates all major operating functions of the business using the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS®). Ensures everyone is rowing together in the same direction. Models the way, always working toward the greater good of the business.
  • Resolves issues quickly and effectively – seeing real problems, being comfortable with conflict, calling out the problems, and solving the problems in a practical and healthy manner. Ensures the leadership team is healthy, functional, and cohesive.
  • Ensures that everyone is truly following, and adhering to the company’s core processes and operating system with consistency. Demonstrates effective project management and continuous improvement skills. Uses both skills to evolve core processes.
  • Effectively collaborates with the owner(s) (The Visionary) to always remain aligned. Maintains a high level of mutual respect with the owner(s). Realizes the unique contributions and ideas that the owner has and possesses an ability to filter and translate those ideas into functional plans for the company.
  • Confirms that all key messages are properly and consistently cascaded across the organization. Inherently ensures that everyone is in the know. Verifies that a high level of effective communication exists throughout the organization.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-8 years of leadership experience in either the Integrator, COO, or similar seat.
  • Broad mix of small to medium sized companies is preferred.
  • Collaborative nature as demonstrated by management experience across multiple departments and disciplines
  • Highly analytical-able to make data-driven decisions and establish effective metrics.
  • A “player-coach” who can both manage teams and get into the weeds when necessary.

  • Mental Acuity – The ability to see, hear, and understand concepts easily and quickly.  A strategic thinker with good problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational Skills – Impeccable organizational skills, that values planning to prioritize and anticipate issues.
  • Orientation toward process and structure – The skills to rise above the moving parts, taking a high-level view of the company, and establish processes and structure. They reduce complexity, create accountability, and help synthesize all company processes.
  • Drive the Culture through execution – Great Integrators are great at execution. They are always driving the bus with the primary thought of who will do what by when? And they are insanely good at holding people accountable.
  • Integrators are relentless learners – They execute by figuring things out and learning new and better ways of getting things done within every department of the organization simultaneously. They typically embrace technology to adapt and optimize the business by making things simple versus more complicated.
  • They are brutally honest – They communicate the brutal truth about everything when most people are not comfortable doing so. And they do it with tact.
  • They take almost everything off the owners plate – Great Integrators are great at putting their egos aside and taking everything off the owners plate. In particular, the things that the owner hates doing or drains him or her of energy.
